Halal Cart-Style White Sauce Recipe

A smooth, tangy sauce infused with garlic, parsley and black pepper

- ½ cup low fat greek yoghurt
- ¾ cup mayonnaise
- 1½ tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic *or 1 tsp of garlic powder
- 1 tsp finely chopped fresh parsley *can be dried
- *salt to taste
- ½ tsp black pepper powder
Combine the yoghurt and mayo in a bowl with a whisk and drizzle in the lemon juice
Using a garlic press, mince one garlic clove and add to the mixture. (You may also crush the clove in a pestle and mortar or grate it) If you are using garlic powder, add it in instead.
Mix once again and add the chopped parsely, salt and pepper to taste.
If the sauce is too thick, you can thin it out with a few teaspoons of plain water (or more lemon juice if you prefer) I would gradually add the water and stir in between to control the consistency.
Now the sauce is ready, drizzle over Halal-style chicken & rice or a kebab and enjoy!
