Garlic-Sautéed Green Beans

Garlic-Sautéed Green Beans

Jazz up an otherwise boring vegetable with some spices and brighten with a dash of lemon juice! This garlic-sautéed green beans recipe pairs perfectly with a juicy steak. It combines the smokiness of paprika with the kick of chili flakes to give green beans a much needed boost in flavor.

These garlic-sautéed green beans are the best side dish for any weeknight recipe and if you want to check out how to make the perfect steak to pair alongside it, click here!

I have a preference for French green beans as they have a milder, crunchier texture but feel free to use whatever kind you desire.

I often use garlic powder for this recipe as I do not want fresh garlic to burn in the pan. It can also be tedious to peel and mince fresh cloves of garlic. However, a good workaround is adding in minced garlic at the last stage of cooking to ensure it doesn’t brown too quickly.

When buying the green beans, some arrive in bags already trimmed and washed. It may be more expensive to buy them that way so if you want to save money, buy whole, unwashed green beans. You can wash them in a colander at home and trim several green beans at once by lining them up side-by-side and using a long knife to cut off the ends.
